Maandagavond komen we weer samen in de Schatkamer en deze avond gaat het over omgaan met heftige emoties, zorgen voor heftige emoties.
“Without mud, there is no lotus. Without suffering, there’s is no happiness. So, we shouldn’t discriminate against the mud. We have to learn how to embrace and cradle our own suffering and the suffering of the world, with a lot of tenderness.”

Kaira Jewel Lingo neemt ons mee in de vijfde les/meditatie uit de reeks van 10 lessen ”We were made for these times”. Zij heeft – na een verblijf van 15 jaar – op 40-jarige leeftijd het klooster verlaten, onderricht nu o.a. mindfulness en boeddhisme en heeft deze prachtige serie aan ons beschikbaar gesteld.

Dealing with strong emotions. Dear Sangha friends, This Monday evening we come together with the topic: Dealing with strong emotions. Thich Nhat Hanh writes: “Without mud, there is no lotus. Without suffering, there’s is no happiness. So, we shouldn’t discriminate against the mud. We have to learn how to embrace and cradle our own suffering and the suffering of the world, with a lot of tenderness.” Do you often experience strong in motions in you? Anger, fear, despair or something else? How do you deal with strong emotions? Are you able to care for it or do they take over? Or are you avoiding them? Kaira Jewel Lingo guides us in her fifth lesson/meditation in the sequence: 'We are made for these times'. She has lived in the Buddhist monastery for 15 years, and at the age of 40 she left to lead a life in society. She now teaches Mindfulness and Buddhism and is offering us this beautiful series.
