Self Compassion

Dear Friends,

On Monday evening our theme of the mindfulness evening will be compassion for yourself; Sometimes called the 6th mindfulness training.

Self-compassion:
Aware of the suffering caused by self-rejection and self-judgement, I aspire to learn to fully accept myself. I promise myself to keep reminding me that at this moment I am good enough and worthy of receiving my own love.I want to learn to enjoy all the beauty that life has to offer, without judging myself for that. I promise to stay true to my Ideals and allow myself space for practice and development. I have the sincere intent to be gentle for myself and to patiently transform all self-damaging behavior and thoughts; in order to develop true love for myself. Only when I can truly love and accept myself, I will be able to offer this to others.

Marion will lead the evening;
and we will have guests from the Sangha of Turnhout.

Doors will be open at 19h30
meditation will start at 20h00

Kind regards,
Hans

Roots feeding the leafs, leafs feeding the roots

Dear Friends,
Monday our meditation will concentrate on interbeing.
Especially because Thich Nhat Hanh is in hospital recovering from a serious brain hemorrhage.
http://plumvillage.org/news/an-update-on-thays-health-16th-november/

One insight from meditating on interbeing is that the teacher is born at the same time as the pupil.

Earlier we have concentrated on our roots, and how they nourish and support us. How our roots can be strong and deep into healthy healing soil.
We have meditated on how our ancestors are alive in us, our parents, but also our friends and teachers that are present in our consciousness and our being.
If our teacher speaks do we hear him/her or do we hear his/her teacher? Or is it reflecting my own experience?

The leafs are collecting the sunlight and breathe the oxygen from the blue sky and are feeding the tree and the roots to be strong. So that the tree can give shelter and nourishment to all who need it.

Last year a little girl asked Thay: Where will you go when you die?
His answer was: I am not planning to go any where, my continuation is already here and it will not go away.

Our mindful breathing and support of the Sangha will strengthen Thay and the people who are taking care of him.
Our loving kindness and care for each other will heal our society. And will support all those that benefit from our stability, space, transparency and freshness, especially our friends and loved ones that are ill or in fear.

Doors will be open at 19h30
Meditation will start at 20h
Please bring something that is a reminder to someone in need or to someone that you are grateful

Enjoy your weekend!
Hans

Official Announcement
Re: Thay’s present health condition and how to support Thay’s recovery

Plum Village, November 12, 2014
To all Plum Village Practice Centers,
To all Practice Centers and Sanghas World Wide,
To our Dear Beloved Friends,

With a deep mindful breath we announce to the world the news that yesterday, the 11th of November 2014 Thay, Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, experienced a severe brain hemorrhage. Thay is receiving 24 hour intensive care from specialist doctors, nurses and from his monastic disciples.

At present, Thay is still very responsive and shows every indication of being aware of the presence of those around him. He is able to move his feet, hands and eyes. There are signs that a full recovery may be possible.

For the last two months, Thay’s health had already been fragile due to his advanced age. He was hospitalized in Bordeaux on the 1st of November. He was gaining strength day by day until this sudden and unexpected change in his condition.

All the monasteries in the tradition of Plum Village are organizing practice sessions to generate the energy of mindfulness and to send Thay this healing and loving energy. We would like to ask the whole worldwide community of meditation practitioners to participate and support us in this critical moment. We know and trust that Thay will receive all your energy and that this will be a big support in his healing and recovery.

Our practice of stability and peace in this very moment is the best support we can offer to Thay. Let us all around the world take refuge in our practice, going together as a river to offer Thay our powerful collective energy. We are all cells of the great Sangha Body that Thay has manifested in his lifetime.

Future reports on Thay health and recovery will be posted officially at www.plumvillage.org,langmai.orgvillagedespruniers.org, and www.facebook.com/thichnhathanh.

Ancestors alive in me

Dear Friends,

This weekend many people have spend time on the memory of deceased loved ones during the All Saints festival

A beautiful way to honor the dead and reconnect to the link we have with them in life and death.

Earlier we meditated on our roots and on interbeing.
We realized that we are built from components that were here long before us.
And that our energy and thoughts are passed on to us and from us to others.

Tomorrow the theme of the evening will be Ancestors alive in me

Doors will be ope at 19h30 for calming down and having tea together,
Also new participants are welcome at 19h30 to get to know each other.

Help to set-up the Kapel is welcome at 19h15

Have a good night and a wonderful day
Kind regards
Hans
