Dear Sangha friends, beste Sangha vrienden (Dutch below)
Sometimes your attention drifts away and a good friend asks you with a smile: What are you thinking? Where is your mind drifting to?
Mostly it is something in the future or the past, a holiday memory, or an upcoming party. Often enough it is something that scares us or makes us sad or angry. We are getting caught in our worries, plans or sorrow.
The hectic of the daily life is like the storm at sea, wind and waves are pushing us and moving us around.
But deeper in the ocean it is more quiet, the larger currents of our lives are moving more steady.
At an even deeper level there is stillness, there is a warm source that nourishes us.
So the question to you is: where is your attention? Where do you lead your mind, to the hectic of the day and the fears of tomorrow? or at your deeper self.
Bring your mind back home to your deeper source, enjoy being still and take good care of your true home.
In the stillness you can experience that you are much bigger than you think, you are much more stable than you think and that you are not alone you are connected.
Monday we will have our evening of mindfulness in 'de schatkamer' Mimosaplein 2 Eindhoven.
With warm regards,
I wish you a beautiful weekend full of emptiness and silence; wonder and gratitude,
Hans
