One of the strong images in the movie 'Walk with me' are the bare trees in the fall against the gray sky, together with the quote from the (1962) diary of Thich Nhat Hanh:
'When Icy winter comes, it is unforgiving .... seeing the courageous, solid way that trees prepare for winter helps me to appreciate the lessons I've learned'
( quote DD Dec 21-1962 Princeton New Jersey)
This Monday evening (Dec-11th) our Sangha meditation will be on the preparation for winter, we know that life is bringing us much joy, beauty and richness and at the same time, brings us pain, fear and grief.
How are you preparing for winter?
Are you able to touch the feeling of spring in you in the middle of a ice cold night?
Can you generate your confidence in your roots and firm connection to the earth when the icy storm is pushing and pulling your branches?
We practice to be firmly rooted in healthy solid ground with our roots:
Our roots in our community
Our roots in our family
Our roots in our spiritual teachings
During our Sangha evening we generate warm loving friendship for Anna. Our dear Sangha member who is facing a new stage in her illness, where the medication is no longer having effect.
We gather Monday night December 11th at Mimosaplein 2
at 19h15 to set up the room and make tea.
at 19h30 there is tea and opportunity to meet and relax.
Meditation will start at 20h
followed by Dharma sharing at about 21h
Please be aware that it will be chilly in the meditation room.
We wish you a wondrous weekend,
enjoy your friendships and the beauty that surrounds us,
Hans
