Empty of what ? A new translation of the Heart Sutra

Dear Friends,

This week Thay published a new translation of the Heart sutra.
As ever Thay tries to make these teachings concrete and applicable to every day life. So he felt that this 2000 years old text needed a new wording.

The Heart Sutra is the most important sutra in Buddhism
But for many of us it is sounds compicated and contradicting.

One of the lines is "Form is emptiness, emptiness is form"
But what is emptiness? and Thay has asked us Empty of what?

In  the Dharma talk from 2008 we hear Thay tell us his insight on how to understand these texts.
And to read these lines in the context of Interbeing
Which is now also reflected in the new translation of the Heart Sutra

Also attached is the invitation to the Day of Mindfulness (in dutch) next week.
there are still some places available.
Please forward that invitation to someone that might be interested.

Tomorrow the doors will be open at 19h30
Video starts at 20h00 and will take about 20 minutes,
After that we have a silent walking meditation and a sharing of our thoughts and experiences.
We close with informal tea

Have a good day!

Hans
