Be still and know De wijsheid van de stilte Dierbare vrienden, Maandag avond zullen we met elkaar mediteren en delen over stilte. Be still and know Dear friends, This monday we will meditate and share on becoming still. Stillness as a wish Stillness as a practice Stillness as a fruit of the Dharma Stillness as a source of joy and insight Discovering what happens when the cacophony stops for a moment Discovering what happens when you make space for yourself and for others Discovering that stillness and the Dharma are rich and nourishing Becoming still in talking moving and thinking gives space, gives room. We have often practiced and experienced that What happens when you become still? Much of our talking moving and thinking is generated from an "Self"-image. The image that we are a separated self. When we become still there will be space to notice the connectedness, to notice the non-dualistic nature of the world. Thay Cuong Lu calls that becoming silent of a "Self" ( a separated self) As soon as that separated self becomes silent, you can act from connectedness. You notice that you are not alone, you notice that we form this life together and that we are part of each others life When your "separated self" becomes still, your talking, moving and thinking becomes different. Compassion emerges and action from compassion. As soon as you become still you can become aware what is there inside you that needs loving care you can become aware what the person next to you needs in order to heal you can become aware that yo are bigger, stronger and richer than you thought Take this moment to stop and let the stillness in. stillness and insight come as a shy wild animal, when you make a clearing in the forest and you allow it to happen Have a wondrous day, with gratitude and connection, Warm greetings, Hans |
